*** Update *** Suspect arrested in Biltmore Village Shooting

 

UPDATED 2:59 p.m. –  Bryant DeAngelo Sanders surrendered to authorities this afternoon at the Buncombe County Courthouse.  He is currently in the custody of the Buncombe County Detention Facility on $700,000 bond.  The original press release from 5:18 AM this morning is below.  The booking photo for Sanders will be released when it becomes available.

Asheville Police identify suspect in Feb 23 shooting

Following an exhaustive investigation by detectives within the Criminal Investigations Division of the Asheville Police Department, Bryant DeAngelo Sanders, 21 years of age of Asheville, NC has been identified as the offender in the shooting incident in Biltmore Village on the afternoon of February 23, 2015. Sanders currently has six outstanding warrants for his arrest:

2 counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder

2 counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury

2 counts of Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property Inflicting Serious Injury

Sanders should be considered armed and dangerous. If members of the public have any information concerning his whereabouts, please call the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050. The Asheville Police Department is no longer seeking the vehicle utilized by Sanders in the commission of the crimes. No photograph of Sanders is available for dissemination.
