Sustainability Advisory Committee on Energy and the Environment

The Sustainability Advisory Committee on Energy and the Environment is the committee responsible for developing and recommending policy to support topics such as sustainable energy, waste reduction, sustainable economic development and land use planning. The committee consists of nine Asheville City residents that are appointed by City Council. The term of office is three years.

Regular Meeting Schedule

The current meeting schedule is the third Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. in the First Floor North Conference Room in City Hall. The normal length of the meeting is two hours. Meeting materials are posted on this webpage two days prior to the meeting.


The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 25 from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Lenoir Rhyne University at 36 Montford Ave. This is the Committee’s annual retreat. The Committee will return to its regularly scheduled meeting time and location in October.
