The Adam District includes Asheville's west community and is supervised by a district commander. Four sergeants and several officers also work in the Adam District. The district sergeants supervise the daily work activities of the patrol officers, who work in assigned beats within the district.
Officers are assigned conduct 24-hour patrols in the district and actively participate in problem-solving activities with residents and business owners. Patrol activities involve bike patrol, foot patrol, and traditional vehicle patrol. In addition, officers can be found at many community social events throughout the year. Citizens are encouraged to schedule an appointment to meet Adam District police officers at the district office at 970 Haywood Road.

Lieutenant Mike Yelton, District Commander Lt. Mike Yelton joined the Asheville Police Department in June 1998. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UNC Asheville and a Master of Public Affairs from Western Carolina University. |

Sergeant Mack Creson joined the department in February 1989. He holds his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate and an associate's degree in criminal justice. Sgt.
