Designed and built by Team Pain, The Food Lion Skatepark is a unique concrete park with three distinctive areas in the beginner bowl, intermediate street course and an advanced vertical bowl. For information, call (828) 259-5800. 

Hours of Operation

The Food Lion SkatePark is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Camps and Classes

Asheville Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with Push Skate Shop, offers summer Skateboard Camps at the Food Lion SkatePark for skaters of all skill levels, ages 6-15.  Week-long camp sessions are an opportunity for beginners to learn basic skills and for more advance skaters to sharpen their skills.  Camp sessions meet daily at the park from 9am-12pm.  Cost is $75 for each session.  Register early – camps are limited to 15 boarders.

  • Skateboards, inline skates, and BMX bikes are allowed.
  • North Carolina general statute requires helmets and pads to be worn by skaters and bikers at all times.
  • All bikes are required to have rubber or plastic covers on pedals and handlebars.  Wheel pegs are required to be plastic or have plastic covers.
