Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre at Montford Center

Regional Community Park -90 Gay St., Asheville, NC 28801
The Montford Park Players encourage the use of the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre as much as possible by other groups during the summer months and work closely with Asheville City Parks and Recreation Department to help make this resource available to as many community oriented performance groups as possible, however their heavy use of the theater during the summer does limit its availability.

If you would like to stage an event at the amphitheatre, follow this 2 step process:

1) Contact John Russell, Managing Director (254-5146) to verify availability of the date you would like to reserve and to work out these details.

2) Contact Jon Fillman with Asheville Parks & Rec (259-5738) to finalize the rental.

NOTE: Rental of the Amphitheatre from the city only includes use of the stage only; Lights and set pieces are owned and managed by the Montford Park Players. Rental of this equipment and hiring of their TD for its operation can usually be arranged if needed. Contact MPP's Technical Director to work out these details.

  • Asheville Grizzlies (men’s football)
  • Asheville Bears (men’s football)
  • Asheville Assault (women’s football)

Veterans' Memorial
The stadium entrance was designed to serve as a memorial to Western North Carolina’s war veterans, but the original vision of a true memorial was never completed. Today, the brick arch at the entrance is the only visual reminder of the proposed memorial. The City of Asheville and interested citizens have joined together to form the Memorial Stadium Action Committee to lead the effort to fulfill the original commitment to Asheville's Veterans' Memorial. Plans for the event plaza include interpretive exhibits and memorials to honor veterans from all U.S. conflicts. The monumental granite World War II memorial currently located on the campus of Mission Hospital will be moved to the stadium and integrated into the plan to create a moving, interpretive exhibit that honors and remembers those who served their country.
