Specialized Facilities - Aston Park Tennis Center

Aston Park Tennis Center is one of the finest public clay court facilities in the United States. There are 12 lighted clay courts designed and constructed of the Har Tru Fast Dry clay court material. The center is open to the public.

Tennis Center Hours

April 1 – late November
Monday - Thursday / 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday - Sunday / 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Reservations   
Court reservations are encouraged. Walk-ins are accepted whenever possible. Courts may be reserved no more than 7 days in advance. To reserve courts, call the Tennis Center at (828) 251-4074.

Asheville Tennis Association Junior Tennis
Introductory tennis lessons for ages 8-18. Meet once a week for eight weeks beginning in June. $20 per person. Instructor: ATA volunteers.

Asheville Tennis Association Adult Tennis
Beginner and intermediate group lessons. Meet once a week for eight weeks beginning in June. $55 per person. Instructor: Tennis pro.

Rules
 
Reservations   
Court reservations are encouraged. Walk-ins are accepted whenever possible. Courts may be reserved no more than 7 days in advance. To reserve courts, call the Tennis Center at (828) 251-4074.

Late Policy   
A court may be given to other players if a player(s) is more than 5 minutes late for court reservation without notifying the Tennis Center. Time will not be added to the end of reservation due to lateness.

Dress Code

  • Proper tennis attire required.
  • Soft-soled tennis shoes only.
  • No running shoes.

Aston Park

In addition to the tennis center, Aston Park contains the following elements:

  • gazebo
  • bench swing
  • two large pieces of playground equipment
  • open play area
  • sandbox
  • informational kiosk
  • practice courts/basketball courts
  • quickstart courts
  • walking trail

Starting July 19, 2010, the park will also offer several wellness classes. All classes are free and open to the public. For questions or more information, email astonparkfit@gmail.com.

  • Yoga on Mondays at 6:00 p.m.
  • Tai Chi on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Support for the playground, bench swing, sandbox, information akiosk and some programming is made possible through a Fit Community grant from the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund.
