Hi Neighbor 2009 - March 20-22

Your team is cordially invited to the 32nd Annual Hi Neighbor Volleyball Tournament.  The Hi Neighbor has been a part of volleyball in the southeast for longer than many of the current players havebeen alive. It is more than a local tournament, for many it is a team/family tradition. It provides the opportunity to test your team against opponents from outside your region. Meet new playersand renew old acquaintances. The Hi Neighbor is a sanctioned USA-V tournament and as such, all teams must be sanctioned. Uniform rules will be enforced. Teams are required to have certifiedreferees and scorekeeper.

We will be returning to the Holiday Inn Airport. Quality and quantity of rooms, along with banquet and party space makes the Holiday Inn Airport very a comfortable fit for us all.   Please take careof the facility so that we will continue to be invited back.  To reserve your rooms, complete the enclosed Room Reservation Form and return to the hotel.   Also, pay close attention to the requirementson the form.

Hospitality begins at the Holiday Inn Airport on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 11:00 p.m.  The Saturday Night Party will be held on Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.  The party is a great opportunityto socialize with your day time opponents and re-connect with players from years’ past.

OK, now how to enter the Hi Neighbor.  Return the completed tournament entry form with the $150 entry fee payable to the City of Asheville, to the:

Asheville Parks and Recreation Department – Athletics Office
72 Gashes Creek Rd.
Asheville, NC  28805
Attn:  Mark Halstead

New: Due to the need to schedule facilities, we now have an entry deadline.
All Tournament Entry Forms must be received by Friday March 9, 2008.

Remember, we accept entries on a first come, first serve basis.  This is so we can be fair to all teams.  . Also note - NO REFUNDS, period.

Also, if you have any questions, please call Mark Halstead at 828-251-4024 or e-mail at mhalstead@ashevillenc.gov.  Thanks for your continued interest and support of the Hi Neighbor VolleyballTournament.
