    The information below is provided by the Water Resources department and reflects unexpected water interruptions and scheduled water outages.  To be notified of interruptions or outages in an area, residents may register contact information with the City's Citizens Alert service.  This site allows users to receive important information from the City of Asheville.

    july  22, 2014

    emergency road closure:        phifer street from south french broad avenue to blanton street

    Update:   Phifer Street has been reopened as of 4:00 pm July 22, 2014

    The City of Asheville Water Resources Department has reported the above road closure which will last until approximately 4:00 pm today.







    Scheduled Outages


    The City of Asheville has scheduled the following water interruptions for water valve and hydrant replacements, general system maintenance, or connection of a new water line by a contractor into the city's water system.

    Surrounding areas may experience no water to low pressure during the interruptions. When the work is completed, customers may experience discolored water or air in the lines and are advised to wait until the water is clear before using it.

    Properties in the affected areas are receiving a notification by telephone via the city's automated system. Citizens may registered unlisted phone numbers, toll free numbers, or business numbers by clicking on the Citizens Alert Sign-Up link, located in the right column on the front page of the City's website.

    WATER INTERRUPTION:        tunnel ROAD            7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

    Tunnel Road from Buckstone Place to Kenilworth Road and surrounding areas  from 7:00 pm Thursday, July 24 until Friday morning, July 25 at 7:00 am.
