    The information below is provided by the Water Resources department and reflects unexpected water interruptions and scheduled water outages.  To be notified of interruptions or outages in an area, residents may register contact information with the City's Citizens Alert service.  This site allows users to receive important information from the City of Asheville.

    September 11, 2014:  emergency ROAD CLOSURE, SPRUCE STREET, 8:30 AM TO 4:00 PM

    Update: road was reopened on 9/11/14 at 11:00 AM

    The City of Asheville has scheduled a road closure on Spruce Street from Walnut Street to College Street from approximately 8:30 am to 4:00 pm for connection of a new water line by a contractor into the city's water system.

     

     

     

    September 11, 2014:  emergency water interruption, MOUNT CARMEL SUBDIVISION, etr 4:00 pm 

    Update: water was restored on 9/11/14 at 10:00 AM

    The City of Asheville Water Resources Department has reported a water interruption in Mount Carmel Subdivision this will also to include all of Lees Ridge Subdivision and on Lees Creek Road from Erwin Hills Road to Tipperary Drive also Harmony Subdivision due to a main line repair (West District). The anticipated time of repair is 4:00 pm.  Surrounding areas may experience no water to low pressure during the interruption. When the work is completed the affected area may experience discolored water or air in the lines. Customers are advised to wait until the water is clear before using it.     The City of Asheville has scheduled the following water interruptions for water valve and hydrant replacements, general system maintenance, or connection of a new water line by a contractor into the city's water system.

    Surrounding areas may experience no water to low pressure during the interruptions. When the work is completed, customers may experience discolored water or air in the lines and are advised to wait until the water is clear before using it.

    Properties in the affected areas are receiving a notification by telephone via the city's automated system. Citizens may registered unlisted phone numbers, toll free numbers, or business numbers by clicking on the Citizens Alert Sign-Up link, located in the right column on the front page of the City's website.

    September 23, 2014:   water interruption on sweeten creek road   8:00 am to 4:00 pm

    The water interruption on Sweeten Creek Road, from Rosscraggon Road to Windsor Drive, and surrounding areas (South District) is from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on September 23. Water will be interrupted due to hydrant replacement.

     

     

     

    September 18-19, 2014:   water interruption on MCDOWELL AVENUE   9:00 Pm ON 9/18/14 to 7:00 AM ON 9/19/14

    The water interruption on McDowell Avenue from Hospital Drive to Saint Dunstans Road surrounding areas (North District) is from 9:00 pm on September 18 to 7:00 am on September 19.  Water will be interrupted due to hydrant replacement.
