WEST: ADAM DISTRICT

The Adam District includes Asheville's west community and is supervised by a district commander. Four sergeants and several officers also work in the Adam District. The district sergeants supervise the daily work activities of the patrol officers, who work in assigned beats within the district.
Officers are assigned conduct 24-hour patrols in the district and actively participate in problem-solving activities with residents and business owners. Patrol activities involve bike patrol, foot patrol, and traditional vehicle patrol. In addition, officers can be found at many community social events throughout the year. Citizens are encouraged to schedule an appointment to meet Adam District police officers at the district office at 970 Haywood Road.

Lieutenant Gary Gudac, District Commander
Lt. Gary Gudac joined the Asheville Police Department in 2005 from Rocky Mount, NC. Prior to his current assignment he was the training coordinator for the Asheville Police Department and instumental in the Department being able to start it's own Basic Law Enforcement Training Class.

Sgt. Mack Creson, Adam District Supervisor
Sergeant Mack Creson joined the department in February 1989. He holds his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate and an associate's degree in criminal justice. Sgt. Mack Creson received the first APD Chaplain's Award, given to the supervisor who exemplifies ethical & caring leadership.

Sgt. Jeff Peterson, Adam District Supervisor
Sgt. Jeff Peterson has been with APD since 1989. Prior to his promotions, he served a a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division, working cases in the Adam District.

Sgt. Scott Lunsford, Adam District Supervisor
Sgt. Scott Lunsford joined the department in 1988. His prior assignments include Juvenile/Sexual Assault Supervisor and School Resource Officer Supervisor.
