The City of Asheville Planning and Development Department is pleased to announce a reorganization of the Department that creates community liaison planners assigned to different areas of the City. The community planners will be the primary contact for those seeking land use information about their assigned geographic areas, as information is frequently requested from residents or parties interested in new residential or commercial development. The planners will be a part of any team assigned to work on a local area master plan, but will not be assigned to review land use applications in the areas they represent.
The planners will be contacting neighborhood groups in these areas to introduce themselves, and plan to attend neighborhood meetings as invited. Questions regarding land use issues should be directed to the appropriate planner, although the Department will continue to assign "Planners of the Day" to answer general questions regarding the Unified Development Ordinance and Zoning.
