Coopers Hawk Drive Area & Royal Pines Area Annexation Processes
On October 26, 2010, Asheville City Council voted to approve the annexation of the Coopers Hawk Drive area (a section of the Biltmore Park community). A revised plan setting forth how the city will provide services to the area was approved at the same meeting, and a link to that document is provided here. Barring litigation, this annexation will become effective November 30, 2011.
An area called the Royal Pines area had initially been included as a a part of this annexation process, but City Council voted on October 12, 2010 to defer it.
City Council is scheduled to discuss the city's annexation policy at a work session at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.
