    Asheville's Building Permits On-Line application offers contractors a convenient way to view all pertinent information regarding a project application 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This information includes: property address, owner name, parcel zoning, application status, application fees and payments, in addition to plan tracking status, permit status, inspection status, and inspection results.

    Contractors may also schedule, reschedule and cancel inspections and send inspectors a message.

    Scheduling an Inspection using Building Permits On-Line

    Step 1 - Select Schedule Inspections. Enter the application number. Click SUBMIT.

    Step 2 - The next screen will have a link to Schedule an Inspection. Click on the link. A list of permit types to select from will appear next. Click on the appropriate permit.

    Step 3 - On the next screen, select the inspection you would like to request. However, if a note is displayed which says No Required Inspections Found, then click on the link to Schedule an Inspection not on this list. Now select the inspection that you would like to request.

    Step 4 - In the comment section, you must enter; your name and telephone number and special instructions for the Inspector.

    Step 5 - Print and retain the confirmation for the scheduled inspection.

    For same day inspections, the cut off for us to receive the request is 7:30 am.

    Every effort will be made to honor the requested date. However, there is no guarantee that the inspection will be made on the date you have chosen.

    Canceling an Inspection

    Step 1 - Select Schedule Inspections from the menu

    Step 2 - Select Cancel Inspections

    Step 3 - Select the desired permit

    Step 4 - Select the inspection you want to cancel

    Step 5 -Verify cancellation with a YES response

    Step 6 - Print and retain the confirmation of the cancellation

    Inspections must be canceled before 7:30 am the day of  the inspection to avoid a reinspection charge.
