Asheville maintains an open door policy for all potential bidders and encourages the participation of minority and women businesses in the purchasing process. The purchasing division is responsible for making the most economical acquisition of quality materials and services that will assure the efficient use of taxpayer dollars. Like all municipalities in North Carolina, the City of Asheville’s purchasing processes are governed by NC General Statutes as well as locally established fiscal policies and procedures.
