    ASHEVILLE-BUNCOMBE FAIR HOUSING COMMISSION

    The Asheville-Buncombe Fair Housing Commission consists of six members: three appointed by City Council and three appointed by the Buncombe County Commissioners. The members shall have a special interest or experience in fair housing practices. The term of office is three years.

    The commission is responsible for enforcing the State Fair Housing Act and has jurisdiction over the subject matter of any complaint filed under Chapter 41A of the North Carolina General Statutes, relating to property or unlawful discriminatory housing practice in Buncombe County. The Commission meets the first Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October and December at 4 p.m. in the Community Relations Council Offices at 50 S. French Broad Ave., Room 214, Asheville. The normal length of the meeting is one to two hours.
